We were recently invited to China to speak at Mindpark 2017, a conference exploring the ‘possibilities of creativity’. Held across three days in Shenzhen, Mindpark was hosted by TOPYS, China’s largest creativity network. The event was also part of the inaugural Shenzhen Design Week, established to promote international exchange, communication and cooperation, and as a showcase for local and global designers.
Speakers at Mindpark came from the worlds of branding & communication, product design, and interactive design, and were invited to present keynote speeches and host masterclasses.
Taking the opportunity to speak directly to 800 designers, entrepreneurs, and creatives, Marcus spoke about Field’s work across global image campaigns, architectural installations, as well as self commissioned work – introducing to a new audience the challenges and creative processes involved in combining artistic with commercial work.
The trip also produced a new series of photographic artworks, Ultraviolet Break of Day, taken in the Kowloon area of Hong Kong, as well as Shenzhen’s Huaqiangbei electronics market.
