Seen at Moving Picture
June 10, 2009 in Design
Just returned from a very relaxed trip to Berlin, presenting at Meta Design’s Moving Picture conference. It was a great event featuring a wide range of inspiring approaches to Motion Design; from 3D to movie titles to analogue experiments.
We’d like to share some of our favourites from the projects and clips presented in the lectures.
Tony from Spin in London presented some of their great animated identity work for DMax, Channel Five, and others, all comprised in their showreel on spin.co.uk.
Lars and Joel of RBG6 created the amazing film Colour for Sony, which involved a kinetic machine and lots of handicraft. Also the music by Björn Carlberg is wonderful. More of their strong, quiet, and elaborate work can be seen on their website.
Gediminas and Andrius of Petpunk mix up whatever technique they fancy with lovely folk references. They created this adorable video The Magnificent Town of Vilnius for the European Capital of Culture in 2009. There’s a nice making-of on vimeo, too.
We also liked their Let there be Light and their contribution to PSSST’s Legends Of Exos s http://vimeo.com/3721662.
