Sound Sculptures

April 19, 2010 in Flow Studies

A series of sketches for sculptural shapes and complex surfaces. The base form are intertwining sound-reactive curves, lofted and displaced to trace an abstract representation of a track.

This is really awesome. If it’s sound reactive is there a video that exists?

How are you guys producing these? Obviously it’s generative but is it with something like Houdini or something like Processing?

    Thanks for your comment!
For the soundreactive part we used Processing. The base curves are drawn as the trace of a track over time, and are this time not meant to be animated. But we’ll make some nice prints available soon!

[...] How to paint a song!21. juli 2010 by Karin Jacobsen What a clever idea! Now you are able to hang your favourite song on the wall and look at it every day. Also a great gift idea for your lover to give him/her(or both) “youre song”. Read more about the painted songs right here. [...]
