Marcus Wendt
Marcus has been working as an artist and designer since 2000.
Looking for more complexity and conceptual depth in graphic design, coding became his primary means for creative expression.
He uses programming and code libraries like a toolbox to develop individual solutions from scratch, to burst or expand the possibilities of traditional design methods. He is fluent in a variety of modern programming languages and techniques, including Processing, Java, Scala, C and C++, Objective C; further OpenGL and scripting for 3D environments like Maya or Blender.
Marcus designs and develops identities and interactive works from the perspective of a visual artist. He has exhibited and performed at media arts festivals and galleries, and collaborated with other artists, musicians, developers – on a regular basis. A number of projects were realised together with Andrew Allenson of pickledonion ltd. Marcus and Vera have collaborated since 2006 and founded FIELD in January 2009.
He studied Fine Arts and Visual Communication with Joel Baumann (tomato) and Bernard Stein (Ott+Stein, MetaDesign) at the School of Arts and Design in Kassel and graduated with distinction in February 2009.
